Here is where you’ll find real life

“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’

Luke 15:17–19.

Like the prodigal son, you might have given undue attention to the enticement of the materialistic world only to run away from home. And amid pleasure, chaos has arisen that is too heavy for you to handle.

Now you discover that you’re lost from home. Then you lose yourself and become empty. You feel lonely and dejected because the path you took led to chaos and crisis.

Maybe you weren’t able to foresee the results of the choices you made. Maybe you intentionally or unintentionally made the wrong choices to find yourself where you are right now. However, we all make mistakes. Therefore, you don’t have to stay in that place forever.

It is only you who can start a journey back home by first finding yourself — your inner self. A journey of reminding yourself of who you are — your worth and dignity. It is only when you find yourself first, you’re serene enough to find your way home.

Find out who you are. Find out what you want. Ask yourself where you came from. Ask yourself what will happen to you when you die. Ask the Holy Spirit, the spirit of truth to open your heart to receive God’s grace that brings salvation.

The moment you find yourself, you discover what God intends for you. That is, to be a chosen generation, a member of His royal priesthood, a holy nation. A special child of God, chosen to proclaim His praises. To take you out of darkness into His marvellous light.

Now when you realise who you are, you decide to start the journey home to your Father. You leave everything the world promises; you leave everything in the hands of the Father. You rest in His Kingdom of abundance. Now you maintain calm and fulfilment.

The journey home is the most important in life. It remakes a person anew and gives them a brand new life.

Friend, there are too many voices around! They are all calling out for our attention. Yet, there is only one voice that leads to the Father. You find yourself and the way home when you find Jesus. Precisely said, finding Jesus is accepting Him to be your Saviour.

Jesus declared,

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” ~ John 14:1–4.

John 14:1–4.

He further declared,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6.

We choose death when we emulate the lost Pharisees to whom Jesus told,

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

John 8:44.

Conversely, we choose life by being like the sheep to whom Jesus explained,

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

John 10:27.

So, now, we can decide to change our lives and those that we influence by humbly choosing to constantly listen, hear and obey the voice of the master, Jesus.

For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist, ” Says the Lord. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.

Isaiah 66:2.

If you haven’t invited Jesus into your life, you can decide right now to let Him in to transform your life. Amen.

Thank you for reading. May God’s blessings abound in you.

Walking the way home

There are too many voices around! They are all calling out for our attention. Yet, there is only one voice that leads to the Father.

Jesus declared, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. Jesus said…, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6).

We choose death when we emulate the lost Pharisees to whom Jesus told,

” You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (John 8:44).

For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist, ” Says the Lord. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word. ~Isaiah 66:2.

Amen!

Jesus loves you!

A perfect model of a believer’s life

First of all, God gave us His image. Though sin robbed us of God’s image, Jesus came to restore it.

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.””

Genesis 1:26

Believers bear the image of Jesus. His body, the church should convey the same image as the new testament explicitly affirms.

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

Philippians 2:5–8

Love, humility, servanthood…are three key models of Jesus’ image that can serve as the gold standard for a believer’s life.

One thing we must never allow the devil to rob of us is God’s image.

Beloved, stay vigilant about the devil’s deception that your image is distorted. Amen.

God bless you more!
